I have read people being concerned about vintage pots they wanted to preserve in an effort to have all the parts remain original. Also, if you are not able to change your own pots, damage can be costly and cause your guitar to be in the shopSeems like anything and everything is debated these days. Oh, the wonders of the internet. Seriously, even if contact cleaner damages pots, would it be worse than a dirty, scratchy pot that cuts out intermittently?
Anyway, I just use the regular Deoxit D5 cleaner. I only use it when necessary. I doubt that it's going to do any damage if it is not over used.
