The Muse I Adorn

do you use the regular solvent or the Faderlube?
There is some debate over whether regular electronics contact cleaners will damage pots.
I heard Deoxit can degrade the contact sweep, but I do not think Faderlube removes corrosion. The best thing to do may be to try the Faderlube and see if it works, and if not, use Deoxit and flush it out wirh Faderlube shortly thereafter

@Session 5 Yes I am still digging the Studio; it is #1.
Cant avoid playing Chili's RR3, and also broke out my Dinky for a while.
Really digging the SD JB bridge pickup in the RR3.

@RVA i use the fader lube. It cleans up, clears scratchiness, and smooths out pots in a most excellent manner.

Seems like anything and everything is debated these days. Oh, the wonders of the internet. Seriously, even if contact cleaner damages pots, would it be worse than a dirty, scratchy pot that cuts out intermittently?

Anyway, I just use the regular Deoxit D5 cleaner. I only use it when necessary. I doubt that it's going to do any damage if it is not over used.

I used to nuke mine with

But I ran out eons ago.

Played this one all day, and all night yesterday. I really can't believe how good this guitar is for a supposedly "cheap" guitar. It has a great neck, with low easy action that rivals my LTD. The body is light weight, and comfortable. The gutar feels great over all, and the pickups sound really good. The active preamp circuit is really cool, useful, and adds a lot of versatility.

I've had this guitar for 15 years and it's still going strong.

And this is a study in "how to do a bolt on neck joint right".

As far as "cheap" guitars go, since you could only get them by purchasing a car, it actually cost something like $16,000! Worth every penny! :rolf:

Yeah Deoxit works great! If eventually it caused some pot issues like a decade or 2 later, change the pot and carry on.
