NGD - 1st Gibson

Lovely guitar, and congratulations - looks really nice.

Because of the finish, I keep thinking it's a studio faded (which I wouldn't consider a lesser guitar at all; actually the faded "oil" type finish is great), such as here:
Gibson.com: Les Paul Studio Faded 2016 T

(This example is a 2016 - and at that time I looked at tye 2016 studios and the 2016 studio fadeds and much prefered the latter.)(I think the faded studios have a mahogany top whereas the studios have a maple top and nitro gloss, also the faded was chambered more than the studio (although that changed from year to year).) For heavy rock/metal, the faded is supposed to have a great burstbucker sound, think Gary Moore.

Really nice choice, imho.

&, since Gibson bought out these "tributes" at silly prices, the studios and studio fadeds are keeping their price strongly.

Big congrats, jtcnj.... For a strip down Gibson LP, it looks damn good! Hey... How come the backside control covers went from black to white?
The last pic is the Agile AL-2000 I had, to show the different neck heel I found difficult to navigate.
Maybe I just got more accustomed playing up there over time as well.

If the Agile AL-3200 I was considering was under 9lbs or so, and had a more rounded neck profile, I would have went with that.
On the downside is the resale value if I was to sell.
But the 10lb + was the deal killer.

@gball made the comment that at the price point I was considering, I was in the neighborhood of a used Gibson Studio - thanks again for solid advice.
So I went looking, and mainly figured I could sell without much loss things went that way.

The sellers pics and description were very accurate on the used condition regarding dings, dents, scratches, etc.

It checks out 100%; the pots were a little stiff and scratchy but cleaned up nice with a shot of Faderlube.

Well done, man. That looks awesome! Play in good health, and watch out - Les Pauls can become a sickness pretty easily.
