Agreed. so sad.

Very influential guitarist.

It was stated in the news clip "after a long illness", kinda makes sense on how low key he has been as of late.

He passed last week, one more up the "you know where" from 2020.

Yeah i see that now on the Wikipedia page: Death is listed as " late December", so it happened in of course: 2020, The cherry on top an awful year. Terrible.

I noticed that too, about him not being around in the media much these last couple of years. Figured he was just kinda taking a break, but what times i saw clips of him, he seemed quiet and sort of withdrawn. Didnt know there was something going on

Damn thats sooo sad man, i was not fun of his music but guy was talented as hell, he could sing, play....

just an other reminder death coms to us all no matter who you are. To some too soon.....

Rest in peace Alexi your legacy lives on!

Many people really didn't know how talented he really was.

He had "chops" for sure, and a wild stage presence. Shame to lose that.

CoB had their final gig and broke up in late 2019. He started a new band called Bodom After Midnight that managed to do a couple of gigs in October 2020, when we had a pretty quiet phase with the covid :poo:.

What i mean brother is sometimes there is fake news and and people stir :poo: up for fun sakes....

Damn too young and gone too soon...
I knew, just wanted to clarify.

So much talent this year ripped away.

I'm not the biggest fan of their niche- style of music. But, damn there's no denying his talent.

I know you would never stir the pot my brotha, just a mis-communication on my end.

Nothin' but love for @Ramo here!

I first heard of him when Guitar world and Revolver Magazine began writing articles of this new young metal virtuoso and he caught my attention. He admittedly used to have a sort of arrogant attitude and even infamously bashed Dream Theater as " Superlame", caught a lot of hell but i honestly kinda found his attitude funny for some reason and maybe that's what drew me into him lol

I started listening to them and saw right off the bat that he was amazingly skilled and could play the fast melodic metal stuff. Not every thing they did was always my favorite but i loved a lot of his guitar work. Hell, i even used to wear an " Are You Dead Yet?" Shirt of Children of Bodom lol

Truly sucks, because he was one of the few younger guys actually doing something great with the guitar and metal itself. Not too many new guitar heroes out there and this sadly takes one of the few we had, away....
