Anyone up for a challenge?

Well heck, I’ll take credit for playing just this rig in the background. Been doing a lot of work in the basement so I setup the Root Beer PRS and H&K Duotone amp in the hallway. Been the only thing I played for the last 3 weeks. :dood:

By NOW, I actually did get out my Black SG and as is my usual M.O. I never know what sounds my rig and fingers will produce and what direction they will take me learning song wise.

SO, today I get busy sending Robert a couple videos of 2 of my Blues Icons. Albert King and Rory Gallagher. This immediately yields my bendy vibrato blues ear to fingers to ear results.

Here are the 2 Vids I posted for Robert. The first one is the version I am familiar with from an Albert King CD I have that he has Rory playing with him on. The 2nd vid is with another black guy doing some lead play on his white Strat.

Next I almost always have my ear on some of Alex Lifeson's gems. In today's case, it is Discovery/Presentation from 2112. What better title for a song for when this thread is for the challenge is poses for us all. Having heard the notes for over 4 decades I am now just learning where they are and the chords needed to make it sound right. To finally see em and watch chord changes happen so easily, makes me hopeful I can get them down with some work and maybe assistance from our more skilled players here.

Then finally, I get to the surprise portion of this process so far today. I think you guys ( especially those who know Rush intimately) will appreciate the last clip. I got a few good reactions of my own from it ( I won't) give away the plot) just will say it is a gooder.

I hear that Mark! This was ugly at first, but has cleaned up well. There’s a bit of swelling, and discoloration, but the previous nerve damage to that finger just has me feeling kind of puffy-numb with a pins and needles thing....so it’s not really painful, just in danger of opening up and tearing away. The gangrenous look has subsided...bled away.
I got a bad laceration on my left hand Dec 23 2019 , wound up needing 6 stitches on the palm, going very deep and up under the meat and now, im showing signs of tendon damage because it draws up randomly if i move it the wrong way and feels like i cut it open again. Unfortunately, thats the playing hand so, might be making a doctors visit in the future. I got pics of it but they'd probably violate forum decency rules lol
