OK Extreme Sports, Surfer Dudes Let's hear stories and see videos

Its a blast man! If you ever find yourself in a situation to try it, i highly suggest it. Its a LOT tamer than the real thing im sure and certainly safer lol but its a blast and not hard on your body at all. Once you get your body aligned right and relax, its a rush. Like flying in a tube!
What I like is the idea of unlimited "freefall" time. As I understand it, most jumps from aircraft are actually relatively short, most of it is the float down. I've gone up on one of these before, which was really fun, but there was no "falling" (thank god!) lol

Thats awsome! Yeah it would definitely be more fun actually flying for a longer time. And you're right: the dives are insanely short, even from like 12,000ft. I think they told us at the indoor site that a typical dive is only about 60-90secs at best before you normally pull the cord and ride down, unless youre insane and do one of those hollywood last second pulls, then snap your neck from the whiplash or break your legs on the landing lol

I might imagine that that minute to 90 seconds probably feels like much longer during the fall, but I also might imagine that once the initial adrenaline jolt wanes a bit, one might wish it lasted longer.

I used to work with a guy that was in the army and had an insane amount of jump time under his belt. He was a big time meth head, used to shoot it up. Said that when he left the army he had trouble finding things that were exciting to him and that's why he started using drugs. Made sense to me at the time. I don't use meth but I try not to judge people for these types of things. Aside from his addiction, he was actually a pretty decent guy. I ran into him a few years back, he was doing well and working as a welder. Not sure if he was still using or not, haven't seen him since.

My younger sister has gone bungee jumping numerous times. I honestly think I'd rather jump from a plane...she's crazy.

Im with ya there. I dont judge or look down on someone if they have an addiction. I dont know whats going on in someone else's life that leads them to that. Hope them all a safe recovery before its too late though. I got very close family who have battled that mess and some still are.

I honestly myself, never tried any kinda drug ( well i drink from time to time lol) but i dont judge anyone who does, as long as you harm no one else. I always got my kicks doing stupid things i guess lol

Oh, I've tried just about all of them in my youth, I used to think of myself as a psychonaut. Still drink beers, still smoke some weed. Everyone here in WA smokes weed. (Well, not literally everyone, but you get what I mean lol) But no more hard drugs for me, I'm getting too old for all that noise lol
