I need a slap to the head

Yes yes and more yes .

So, you feel my pain? I'm glad I'm not alone!

I did discover something to use as a stretching exercise for reaching upper frets on a Lester: the solo in "Don't Stop Believin'", by Journey.

The last three notes in the solo are a B, a D# and an E. You have to put your index finger on the high B (fret 19) on the high E string, and pick that note. Then you have to stretch to the 22nd fret on the high E. That is a D natural. But, before picking the note, you have to bend it sharp to a D#, then you pick the note. Finally, you bend it just a little more to an E, and pluck the last note and let it sustain just a bit. That will build some dexterity! Because you actually have to bend the string to a specific pitch, this allows you to work on control while your hand is stretched out, not just hitting a certain fret.

The Official Les Paul Husk Fund has begun.

I have an account where I deposit money for significant guitar purchases. I made a deposit earlier.

We're on our way!

Woohoo!!!

Had one in the P90 Gold Top realm as well.

Do you need some money 'now' bruddah?

This has always been a good reason for having the metal cover on a LP's neck pup because usually there is an usable E note waiting for ya if you can push the high E against that top edge of that neck pup! lol & if ya got good finger skills there is a G note that can be coaxed out down toward the other end of that neck pup too, sometime right on top of that adjustable pole piece screw. Obviously this only works, funny enough, with the bridge pup activated! lol

I do have the money to just purchase it now, outright. But, I'm pretty strict about not taking major guitar-related purchases out of the family budget or savings. Since just a good Les Paul husk will be a few bills, I prefer to save up for it using my self-imposed, discretionary spending allowance. I keep an account just for these sorts of things.

I'm frugal...but not cheap!

I'm still, at heart, a poor kid who grew up outside of town in the corn fields!

Yup. That's pretty much exactly what I have in mind, right down to the trapezoid inlays.

Since I already have some of the hardware that I want to use, and since it's gold, the rest of the hardware and the pickup covers will also be gooooold!

It will be nice, yesh?

& I was 1 of 5 kids being raised in a 3 bedrm ranch by a stay at home Mom & a Dad that worked for the Post Office. Money was tight, If I wanted something, I had to go make money aka 'WORK' to get it. We were surrounded by both corn on one side of the road & cattle on the other with the mountains starting just west of those fields. That local farmer was a great source of making cash in my early teen years tossin hay, runnin tractors & helping with the cows.

Despite being on the lower end of middle class, I can appreciate what it did for me & believe my parents did a decent job taking care of us kids, even managing to put the 5 of us through private school in grades 1 through 8! RIP Mom & Dad. And thanks for everything.

I'm a cheap half stepper and not particularly smart. I know this not exactly what you are after but:
Guitar Shells – UBuyGuitars

I'm building a black one and it is a very nice guitar.
Adrian offered me a deal on that Agile P90 gold top I would have loved to do, but just couldnt fund it.

You mean, like this?

I will never complain about upper fret access on a Les Paul again!
