The husk was from a 2007 LP Studio. There is some yellowing on the neck from use and age. There is also what appears to be a slight burn on the back of the headstock from a cigarette. I knew this was there when I bought it; it's one of the things that made me want this husk. I paid $595.00 for it.

Something to add: the switch is Switchcraft.

In the category of "Keeping a Thread Alive" I figured I'd post up pics of the packing process before the White Wonder makes it's journey.

To start with, I loosened the strings. I kept them just tight enough to hold the bridge and tailpiece in place. But, they are pretty loose.

Then, I cut a strip from a 100% cotton towel and placed it underneath the strings to protect the fret board, as shown below. I used a 100% cotton towel because I didn't want to take any chances of the plastic bubble wrap reacting negatively with the lacquer finish.

I took this pic after I had already wrapped the headstock in a cotton towel strip and wrapped bubble-wrap over that.

Next, I cut more strips from the towel and folded those over to make spacers. I used them to fill any voids around the body to hold the guitar in place so it wouldn't shift around inside the case. Anywhere I needed some padding against the actual guitar, I used strips cut from the cotton towel.

Then, I covered the whole guitar and neck with a large section of the towel:

With the towel n place, I added bubble wrap to keep the guitar in place. I folded the bubble wrap over several times at the end of the guitar body to take up the gap caused by the arched top:

Next, I wrapped the case. I started off wrapping the case in several layers of the clear bubble wrap with the smaller size bubbles. Then, I finished up with a few layers of bubble wrap with larger bubbles:

Before putting the wrapped up case into the box, I inserted two pieces of 2" thick, dense, packaging foam in the bottom of the container and added a layer of packaging peanuts. Then, I put the wrapped case into the box. After that, I just added peanuts until the box was nearly full. I added the peanuts slowly and pushed them down into any voids.

Here's the box almost ready to close up:

I put the same foam on top as I did at the bottom of the container. Here's a pic of one of those pieces of foam:

The last of the foam and peanuts, just before closing everything up:

Finally, all boxed up and ready to take a trip. I wonder where it could possibly be going!
