I prefer the arm bar choke--- gives you more control-- and leverage-- I mean if you MUST use your hands try and LOCK your fingers----or use gloves with rubber palms to aid in gription (my own word--coined in the 80's) -- and it describes the amount of GRIP applied by a force----
also of course the gloves hide finger prints -------be sure to burn them -- well-- WATCH the fire-- dpont wander off and ASSUME the fibers will all be consumed those damned forensic asshats are getting VERY picky for govt. employees..............

I finally got the power transformer. All done now and passed all the voltage tests in the Metroamp instructions. Sounds cleanly awesome. Blending channel 1 and 2 is pretty cool. It really gives the guitar a full sound. My Sourmash head box should arrive today as well.

You know, this is honestly my first experience with a 4 holer. It seems to be cleaner and more articulate than my 2203 build. Having the master volume is nice for having adjustable overdrive without using pedals and it has its own sound. The 4 holer just sounds awesome clean (I am going to have to take it to the cabin to open it up) and I like the tone variety when jumping channels. Plus I have a Mojo Mojo, RAT and Soul Food to add overdrive.
Could you explain the function of the choke???

Seems like a good explanation to me. It was identical on a few different sites.
“A choke is an iron core inductor used in the power supply of a guitar amp as a filtering element. Looking a lot like a transformer a choke only has two leads coming from the housing. They are designed to block AC while passing DC. Their purpose in guitar amp filter supplies is to smooth out the ripple in the rectified DC.”
