Marshall Style 1987 Build, Which Choke?

Now that brings up an interesting idea. Do you let someone else drive? How much do you intervene if you do? Put this into a band perspective. Or anything else for that matter.

Someone else drive? Not often...I prefer to control my own destiny as much as possible.
If I do? I never intervene in the responsible operation of heavy machinery...especially when death is on the line.

I like those Dale/Vishay resistors too. Their Plain-Jane looks, are very uniformed and conformative. Metal film with consistency. They don't drift when you sneeze... :alien:

Theoretically, wire wound and bulk metal foil are the lowest noise.
Depending on the type, metal film come in at #3 noise-wise. But beware that all metal film is not created equally....it "can" be noisy depending on the actual film used.
However...a bulk metal foil resistor can cost $20 each; although much less noise it's pretty pricey. You can get about -40 noise floor from Bulk Metal resistors.
This makes metal film an attractive alternative.

You can derive from the chart that carbon resistors are the noisiest by far compared to the more updated types.....

Is it gonna be a lefty chassis and faceplates?

When Java made his JTM45, he reversed a bunch of stuff on it. He hates the location of the volume knobs in relation to the input jacks because when you reach behind you to adjust the volume while playing, you hit the cable ends. So, he put the volume on the left end of the panel, so you could reach with your right hand to adjust the volume while holding notes with your left hand.
