Before I give Wade an aneurism, I better answer the question.
Do I like solid state? Not as much as I used to. I take it this is referring to solid state amps.
My first amp was solid state - a Peavey Studio Pro 40. My next amp was also solid state - a Peavey Transtube 212. I liked them both quite a bit. I still have the Transtube. I still consider it to be a good amp.
However, at some point I decided to try tube amps, just to see what all the hub-bub was about. I didn't like the tube amps at all. I found them much harder to control because of their sensitivity to touch dynamics. They seemed to behave differently with gain and effects, too. Honestly, I nearly gave up on them.
However, I decided to stick with it. Now, I've learned how to use the dynamics and benefit from them. So, today I don't dislike solid state, but it's not my first choice.
