We are back in the studio next weekend to record our second single. I am ponderimg which amps and guitars to take. The other guitarist's mom passed away so I will be recording her parts as well. I am debating the JVM to cover all the things without hauling amps around but still wonder about the 4010 for one track. Not sure if it will be gainy enough for what I want amd by the time I run an OD I could just use the JVM.
One track is a kind of chunking on the upper strings D sus4 type of thing. Thinkjng maybe 800 for that track. Still needs to have a good chunky A to Bm in there too. Likely LP burst.
Second track is more sustainjng single open chords so maybe that will be better with the 800. I was thinking the Jubilee. Need some articulation in chorus. I think I will use my Goya L6-S for that track just so that I can have it recorded on somethjng that potentially is on the radio. That guitar has been my buddy since 1978 and it deserves it!
The other tracks are short guitar fill tracks. Might be some whammy so the Yamaha RGX that the wife bought me in the 80s.
This will be fun! I will play this week amd see what wins!
