The Muse I Adorn

Very nice. what pickups ya using? And do you possibly have any set up tips? much appreciated.Never set a V up

I'm using a set of Manlius "Fat Diane" PAF style humbuckers in it. I've got several sets of Mick's pickups over the years, and he does a fantastic job.

Fat Diane PAF

As for set up, it's pretty much the same as any of my other guitars. Not much neck relief. Fairly low. Pickup pole screws adjusted to match the radius of the fingerboard and strings over the saddles. I like the pickup height just a tad lower than what would be a normal spec. I like a cleaner, natural PAF sound. They still get nasty when needed.

All the set up I did on mine was to lower the pickups, action, and set intonation , that seemed to be all it needed.
To make me happy, but it is not in the same category as SG Johns work of art, but it is the only one I have for now.
Cheers
Mitch..i hereby request a new garage tune with the V... no rush.. when ya feelin it..hit us & your neighbors with the mojo

JUst so happens I recently lowered a couple of my bridge pickups.
they had a sort of tremolo effect; I figure it was the pickups too close to the strings.
I find that going high until I hear that then backing off till it stops seems to be the sweet spot.

I have not been seriously GASsing for new guitars lately but the Vee gets me all horned up again.
I'm thinking more Albert King as well, but also Micheal Schenker. I used to hate those Dean V pointy headstocks but even that is growing on me.
Never held or played on though; but I play mostly standing so the sitting thing is not really an issue.

Glad I cant justify any significant purchases anyway so I dont agonize over it.

I still have this Vee guitar it's the same age as me 62 I had to sell my 1963 Gibson Vee makes me sick thinking
about it one of five made according to Gibson.

I would love to spend a day playing this guitar before I finish the other V that I started a while back. Would really like to get the neck, heel, and the area behind the nut right.
