Does anybody else make their own backing tracks?

I usually write my own, but I "borrowed" this progression from somewhere  and made the drums (Steven Slate 5 sequenced) and bass backing track.

My take

Nice! I suddenly feel like I should learn this arrangement :)

I've been slowly making some backing tracks of my own: I transcribe by ear with Musescore and when it's done, I import that into Reaper to be played by VST's. The one I finished and posted here was Ample Bass P Lite II for bass, MrRay22 for Rhodes and MT-PowerDrumKit 2 for drums.

It's quite tedious work and I try to be as accurate as possible... I guess it also doubles as ear / sheet music reading training at the same time, and it kind of feels more fulfilling than just reading etudes from books.

I use Reaper, I've used Ample Bass and MT Power Drumkit too. VSTis can sound quite good. Here's a tune I wrote in memory of my late Mother. All sequenced MIDI. It's not rock 'n'roll...

Its weird..record a lot..a whole bunch , basically a full song a week, but can not do a song without words

We always went to the studio & have done bass work for quite awhile. last year made a post about learning to record at home @Thatbastarddon jumped right in & mentored me..what a great thing to be able to do. We used to play out so much, then being stuck at home..learning to record has saved my music career & massive amts of $$$ lol

I live for it, think 23 songs so far this year..have no idea what to do with em all anymore. The other day started a notebook to write some basics down on the songs for future ref.

mine start when i sit at the drums for some reason, then build..pretty cool process..like a trance happens & about 4 hours later(if wife can sing) done, ready for final mix & master. Not much mixing lately..learning to capture it all with the right amp & guitar choices..then they translate to very easy live songs. ..

i wish i could make my own ones. is there a program to make them like guitar pro or there is other way other than recording instruments?
