Craigslist score

It's done.
The difference between the stock one and this one is subtle, but the changes made were drastic.

Scale length was changed from 25.5" to 24"75" via donor neck. Which was refretted in the process.

A nut shelf was made for the locking nut.

And fret nibs were added.

Neck joint on body was also trimmed 2" from goofy looking 6 screw to a normal looking 4 screw mount.
Upper horn & bevels were also recontoured.

Bridge was moved accordingly, involving filling the old trem cavity.

And rerouting for Floyd.

Slathered the body & neck in glowing frogs ass green
and put it all together.

Wired with single volume & tone control and 3 way toggle switch.
Push pull pots activate coil split for both pickups, and one for "motherbucker mode that puts both humbuckers is series, turning both pickups into a quad coil humbucker. When coil split is selected in motherbucker mode, outside coils are in series.
It's a hoot.

That green slim thing looks like a BC Rich or something. Awesome work hahahhahaha.Great lookin guitars.
Thanks J.G.
I agree about it looking lice a B.C. Rich. It's the headstock shape.
I'd love to have a Mockingbird.

Freak'n piece of green awesomeness, man. Looks great.
HOLY POOP!!!!!!!!!!!! thats a lotta hackin !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys. Yes it was a lot of hackin'.
Hours and hours of hackin', fittin', beer drinkin', etc...
Hard to say if it was all really worth it or not.
But I ended up with two cool guitars out of the process so far and still have the blue husk to go.:electric:

Excellent improvements! Great colour, love the reshaping too.
I just love those HOT stock single coils on an obvious metal guitar???
My first guitar i bought myself was a Hondo from around this time period, but a rather pedestrian bolter LP in black and creme.

Thanks, I live for this nonsense.
Being covered in sawdust & wood shavings, in 90 degree heat is relaxing for me.

I owned some Hondas, but not any Hondos.

Hondo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It's Godin spelled backwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Say Dave what the neck from on the green beast ?
I have no Idea.
I got it from Ray. I was going to use it on a different project that didn't pan out.
So I refretted it and it sat till this project needed a neck.
The neck pocket was so close that it was like a perfect fit.

It's a 22 fret maple neck with a volute and what looks to be a rosewood board.

Had an ugly scarf joint, so painting it was the perfect answer to covering that up.

OK, that's awesome.
Want a tone report now... cuz I'm a demanding but undeserving Igloo dwelling ass hat!
Haven't had much playtime yet, but it's showing promise.
The pickups are Guitar Madness high output ceramic magnet affairs.

They seem to be their version of a Super Distortion Humbucker.
Great value and incredible sounding pickups for $25 per set.
The wiring mods worked as expected, with both buckers together in series being a fat and full sound, yet not as muddy as one might expect..

It'll get more playtime as I get everything tweaked to my satisfaction.
