It's mostly Sysco's fault although Ivan and others need to accept some blame too...

automated external defibrillator

Should they be aurally or anally inserted??? :)

So, I was listening to some music from many years back and thought I'd share a US and UK fun tune...

Both are excellent videos, well worth a watch.

If you don't like these tunes the it's mostly Sysco's fault although Ivan and other posters should take some responsibility too...

Watching videos tonight, I realised that perhaps I'd done too much acid because watching this video was a normal night in London for me back in the day...

Korn video: Their music has never been my bag of tea, but that video still is pretty cool.

2nd video: Very disturbing... but interesting... but very disturbing... o_O

Prodigy, right in my neck of the woods at the same time, brushed shoulders in clubs many times... A bit like Depeche Mode (one of the first boy bands), they changed so much...

I remember being in the Manor Club (Manor House area of North London, a bit of a shithole) hearing their early stuff (really low money videos, just early tech-dance with a hint of punk(?):

A few years later they were one of the biggest alternative rock/dance bands in the world with a big record label and lots of money for videos:

Like Sysco said the Prodigy video is disturbing. Now you want disturbing in a good sort of way watch any Marilyn Manson video. The Beautiful People

That's agood point, JG - and an interesting video to highlight too. In some ways they show cultural differences that didn't fully make the divide - I'm not that fond of MM...

Here is a band that did make the divide (I much prefer the original singer):

Okay S5, I understand your point - these were E and coke bands... Whilst I understood that, I was always more of an acid fella meself, so you want to hear some Chemicl Brothers, right? :)

For me, for a decade or two, this was the standard Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat out - often at the Underworld in Camden.

We have a house in Thailand, and we lived and worked there for a while... About an hour outside of Bangkok with some land, stray dogs around, snakes, spiders, buffalo and perhaps the occasional crack head (called yaba in Thailand, cheap and easy to get), so most folks have a gun to protect their property. Hard for foreigners to get, but very easy for Thais to get if they own their own property and land, and the general feel of things according to connected Thais I knew was that the wife buys a gun, you can take it to the gun range and practice (in a locked box), no problem, and if you ever need to use it then anything dead should be on your land by the time the police come... Anyways, there are two very dangerous things in Thailand: wives and the police (just a mafia organisation), so, along with the fact that I have zero knowledge of guns, I decided I'd be much safer without one. :)

I did like the idea of a nice Glock and snubby Remmington shotgun to fire at the locals on slow days (perhaps during the long rainy season while sitting upon my veranda), but realised that 1: probably best not to allow such mental imagery to fester; 2) imagine what damage the wife would have done to me with those!
I meant the bullet proof jock strap....not the guns....for your protection in any marital discord.

Whenever I got something new I'd store it under the bed in it's case for about 2, 2 1/2 years. I'd play it but not in front of the warden. Then I'd take it out from under for good. Then when an inquiry is made I would always just say, " Oh that thing? I've had it for years .. whats sa matter with you? Always worked, I didn't lie and usually refilled that available parking space under the bed with another. But I never lived beyond my means, was a pretty successful contractor with a upscale clientele, all the bills were paid and she could keep her paycheck and do whatever she wanted with it. So in my thin, eggshell thick head, that's how I justified my " crimes ". No runs, no hits and only one error. But that's a whole funny story how I messed up. All I can say now is the first thing out of her mouth was a loud close_tema.gif" You could buy a car for this much money " Me, I had a bad, bad day that day 10_2_12.gifAss_kiss.jpg

Well, I'm late to this party as usual (damn time zones & sleep), but my 2 cents.
First, get that SG junior back, ASAP.
Second, don't give up on the idea of an amp build, trust me, it is an extremely rewarding endeavour. You need to (1), be prepared tool-wise (soldering station, small side cutters, wire stripper, small long nose pliers etc) &
(2), spread the cost of an amp kit over a reasonable time frame. Open an "amp funds" bank account & make regular "affordable" deposits into it. During the saving up period, research the various kits available to enable a more educated choice come purchase time.
Regarding the kit you eventually choose, I recommend one that uses Heyboer transformers. Mojotone are a Heyboer distributor, so I imagine they use them in their kits. Weber, AFAIK use both Heyboer & Chinese transformers so you'd need to enquire (I don't recommend using Chinese transformers).
You want the "American" sound? Well that's open to interpretation, but IMO, it doesn't get more American than Fender. So, a couple of recommendations for a first build.
(1) A Fender tweed Princeton (5F2 or 5F2-A). This is "the most" recorded amp ever, a bare bones, 5 watt tone machine. 1 pre-amp tube (12AY7 or 12AX7), 1 6V6 power tube & a 5Y3 rectifier tube. 1 volume control & 1 tone control. A simple design that would be an excellent first build, last a lifetime & guaranteed to sound great. This would be my first recommendation.
(2) Feeling a little more adventurous, want a little more output power, how about a Fender tweed Deluxe (5E3). Again, one of the most recorded amps out there (a favourite of Rev Billy Gibbons).
An only slightly more complex build than a Princeton, it would still be an ideal first build. Same volume & 1 tone control as the Princeton. Two pre-amp tubes, two 6V6 power tubes, a 5Y3 rectifier tube & producing about 17 watts at full clip. Again, an ideal first build. Be aware though, once you build one amp, you will most likely build more. Cheers

I have a diagram/layout of a 2 6V6 power tubed amp, but with both tubes wired in parallel to work as one in a class A, cathode biased tone monster! I've saved it for 35 years and been jones'in that long to build it. Gotta be tucked away in the garage somewhere. If I can find it I'd like to post it here and do a feasibility study!@
