These are all potential outcomes, as this idea will likely not please the wife. But, never mind, life is a risk... I'd like some suggestions, please, from you fine fellas and lady(s?): if I were to buy a very simple low wattage amp kit then what would you suggest. I'd quite like the American sound, a head is fine as I have a cab, it'll need to be enclosure and all. &, cheap because I'll likely fuk it up and throw it in the bin while the wife looks on pulling faces and saying "I told you so"! Remember, it has to be delivered to Korea, so none of these US Craigslist pickup locally for $25 deals... :)
 
I've built a Trinity 18w Marshall TMB, and I think jtcmj has done one as well.
But you want American flavor, so I would have to go with a 5E3 tweed.
It's 15 watts of happiness. Great instructions, builders forum, and quality parts.

The silly amp build idea... I do enjoy you fellas and your amp builds, great work, but I can't do that... Maybe one day when I have less work on and a bigger place with a work area; something for the future! :)

(Did you see the price of those amp kits??? &, US transformers, and tools, and, and, and...).

That SG Junior will need to come home, but I'm also pining for a humbucker guitar now, so that'll make 3. The Gibson cases look so conspicuous that a 2020 standard might be the one to go for in the 'soft case'. Just got some stuff to sort out in the house in Thailand, a little bit costly, so that'll make the wife happy - a guitar will be on the tail end of that deal, so she won't complain too much. :io:
 
Nah, don't think that since everyone here would gladly help you. But based on what you've said I'd first buy a catchers mask, football helmet, shin guards, football pads, hockey pads and a good flak jacket w/ the front and rear steel plates, not the ceramic ones and a riot shield, clear plexi I imagine would do the job. Then we'll be good to go!

We have a house in Thailand, and we lived and worked there for a while... About an hour outside of Bangkok with some land, stray dogs around, snakes, spiders, buffalo and perhaps the occasional crack head (called yaba in Thailand, cheap and easy to get), so most folks have a gun to protect their property. Hard for foreigners to get, but very easy for Thais to get if they own their own property and land, and the general feel of things according to connected Thais I knew was that the wife buys a gun, you can take it to the gun range and practice (in a locked box), no problem, and if you ever need to use it then anything dead should be on your land by the time the police come... Anyways, there are two very dangerous things in Thailand: wives and the police (just a mafia organisation), so, along with the fact that I have zero knowledge of guns, I decided I'd be much safer without one. :)

I did like the idea of a nice Glock and snubby Remmington shotgun to fire at the locals on slow days (perhaps during the long rainy season while sitting upon my veranda), but realised that 1: probably best not to allow such mental imagery to fester; 2) imagine what damage the wife would have done to me with those!
 
Maybe she could request a H&K MP5 and a semi shotgun w/shells filled w/ salt , it works very well, burns like hell and is non lethal. Or a bean bag shotgun gun also not lethal, so you conscience is clear. The bean bag thing they the go down like a weevil. Just saying … so these options only leave a Kemper! And you could demonstrate it and give lessons?

Yeah, it's best to be prepared with a functional work area with plenty of lighting. Then there's some proper tools that will be needed, like an automated external defibrillator (AED)! The list goes on... :dancepoo:
