You and a "Tele", wasn't meant to be. But I'm pretty sure you have had some personal good experience with the Californian-made G&L's.
Funny thing... I never would have thought of buying a Tele-style guitar. It didn't seem to be my style of guitar. Then one day at the local guitar shop, there was a brand new G&L Bluesboy and it had a spalted maple top. At the time ( 2008-ish ), I've never seen this type of wood. After that, I was asking the shop owner: "Hey! WTF is this?" … 10 minutes later, and I'm counting out the bills for it! Welcome to the world of Teles! Even more impressive: Welcome to the world of G&L USA. I'm not sure if G&L's much more affordable Asian-made "Tribute" series was around in 2008. And I've never tried one, so I can't comment on those. G&L USA produces well made guitars. Very solid feeling, and very resonating guitars. The gloss finish on mine looks like it has a sheet of glass surrounding it!
If I'm not mistaken, your G&L is a Tribute series. I'm assuming those didn't come with the real MFD pickups. The MFD's are more like a nasty P90 than a regular Tele-bridge single coil. What pickups did you put in there?
