I do now.^ sounds great, Mitch - 99.5% the British early metal sound. You do know that extra 0.5% can only be found in a 1961 (february, between the 6th and 9th) Mullard in v1, don't you...
Now that's sexy!
I do now.
Thanks for the intel.
Mitch
No problem brother I appreciate the humor.Don't believe a word I say - I have no knowledge, just the occasional tongue in cheek comment!
You're not suppose to change them...
You're suppose to solder them...![]()

we are supposed to change the tubes?
Thanks brother I appreciate your support and kind words..Very good work on the clip Mitch!!![]()
Tube swap how would I do it? Not difficult I would just buy an SS amp, no switching tubes, oh, wait a minute, I did buy one..![]()
Tube swaps will make a difference. After many such posts from respected members, I bought a Marshall MG30 - uttere. The THR10 sounded a lot better. I had a Marshall Origin too at the time, so had 3 options and the SS was so much worse than the others it never got played. It sounded so bad, I couldn't even sell it, wouldn't want somebody else to pay money for the utter
est of the
e, so I simply gave it away (doubt the bloke I gave it to plays it...). I'm sure there are good ss amps out there, and I know there are good modelling amps out there - in my limited experience, the modellers are now a much better buy than a ss due to sound quality and ease of (decent) effects.
But, we will see, or more exactly - I will hear..., if there is any/much difference in swapping tubes. I'm happy with the amp sound, but like to play around, and like to get a bit of knowledge through experience too. If that knowledge is: tube swaps make no difference, then so be it - we will see...
With the guidance of a great brother here Robert I was able to tame some fizz and harshness from my Dsl40c’s.
Speaker swaps are your next obsession. It can make a huge difference - almost like a totally different amp in some situations.
pedals...............176 different ones to be exactI should just buy a cheap solid state and make do with awful sounds.
