he is happy healthy and almost 10 years old now! (he was about 2 in the pic) -- he cant fit on the back of a couch now!! lol

they all have a story -- one has buckshot in her and is 16 wears diapers -- but CHUGS right along as best she can and eats like a horse! ----

If you send one of those doves out every morning, and one of them comes back in the evening with an olive branch in his beak, that will be a sign the virus pandemic is over!

yes -- Chickens CAN FLY as can the Goose (she flys from one side of the yard to the other almost a 5 ft wing span lovely to see) -- and the female Turkey and Ducks-- the male turkey is TOO DAMN FAT --- however soon I might see the pigs fly!

however FULLY FLIGHTED they dont LEAVE ----even the Yellow HEadded Amazon Parrot Eddie -- when she got out -- she stayed in the trees near the house ---- and would talk to us -- and holler MAMA! -- MAAAaaMA---when she would see Shannon -- she is back on her perch in the house now -- safe and sound -- could FLOWN away forever -- but didnt--

the ones here on Misfit Farm KNOW they got it good

Yes when a predator is chasing a chicken, they will fly up and roost in trees.
If a chicken is frightened enough it will definitely fly. As will Roosters.
These birds prefer living on the ground somehow they evolved into lazy birds. (and they eat too much for flying)

On Kauai, The chickens and Roosters that wander though the jungle, are protected species. These are "Kauai Jungle Fowl."
It is interesting to wander through the rain forest, and too encounter wild chickens and rabbits in the wettest jungle.

kauaijungelrabbit.png A Kauai Jungle Rabbit. Although the first time I saw it, I thought I was having a flash back. As you probably already know, rabbits are not normally found in rain forests or jungles. Thankfully and much to my own relief, the rabbit cannot fly.

I love PRSs and have a number of them including Midnight Angel, my #1 since 1987 (and also the first guitar I ever was inspired to name).
Spitfire, Oriole, and Kinghawk are also named for things that fly. Lilith too I guess, assuming a demon temptress would have wings.
