To What Are Yee Listenin' Right Now?

At Chilli's suggestion in another thread, I was going to listen to some early Rush.

Found some Mahogany Rush instead.

I do want to get this new DVD.

Check out Frank's Pickups in that SG. Anyone know the low down? Also, what a wild pick guard/controls setup on that thing.

I've read somewhere that he wrecked a few different guitars coming up with that pickup configuration, and their exact location. That neck pickup routing does not leave much left for a stable neck joint. He's always been a fan of Strat tones, but preferred playing SGs. That neck pickup is at the 24th fret for getting octave overtones, and the bridge pickup is like a flipped Strat. I know he's been very particular about his guitar and amp sounds, and has built several amps and pedals to get the sounds he was chasing, as well as modding many guitars.

I'm surprised that when Gibson came out with the S-S-S type SG a bunch of years back, they didn't work out a signature model with Frank. I think it would have done quite well.
