Cheap guitars apparently !!

130$ for a les Paul or a 335 looks and style for the price of a pedal

Lots of hype going on right now about these anyone have one ?

I don’t want one, but we’ll erm, do I hmm I unsure what I want really :)

I know its drama, which I detest personally, but watch 60 Cycle Hums latest video a couple days ago about Firefly. Ryan was a fan of them, flaws and all, and they didnt handle the constructive criticism well, even though he likely sends a lot of players their way.

yeh seen that, I joined the Facebook group and seen the poop fly around for no good reason

Still a cheap guitar tho :)

here is the deal -- I (and many others-- Ray --JJudas -- MANY members) have answered the "can I get a "low dollar" cheapo guitar to play and sound good" question -- many times actually-- the answer being YES ----
so now -- (the firefly and the Grote etc etc) really hold no ....."mystery" for me anyway--- I "know" I can get it and with the parts in my spare parts box-- ebay-- musiclilly -- or the help of Drummoid and Hackmaster (lol) ;)
I can (er we can) make any lump of wood sound/play good...
so its cool and nice and and a great "deal" for those wanting to learn-- improving set up skills-- and "dicking about" with a guitar that "IF" you "bin" the thing -- your not DESTROYING a vintage Gibson or Fender ;) or losing THOUSANDS of dollars -- all GOOD things

I encourage others to get a Firefly---- get a Grote -- get a Hardluck Kings (google them) learn -- try-- open your mind but dont break the bank doing it -=--

Leeds--- I agree 100% on el cheapos becoming Diamonds in the rough---

1 of my most favorite basses of all time ---- (no B.S.)
50.00 Pawn shop find Squire Affinity "P"-- proper set up and new strings (and a Duncan 1/4 pounder) ....it holds its own against basses costing WAAAAAAY more

I had a cheapo First Act I called Gumby. That guitar had everything in the right place. It might have been one of the few, from what I've read, etc. BUT, Gumby setup, tuned up, and played great - very nicely actually. The pups? Well, to me they sounded so raw, so grungy, that they actually sounded good/different - so, I left them in. I regret getting rid of that guitar...
