He’s got no daughters Adrian.

Yeah, I came to London for the weekend. Was supposed to see Saxon and Girlschool at Hammersmith Saturday, but the show was cancelled. Still came over because Java and I had plans for a few pints as we do every time I’m here, as well as trading assorted tubes that each of us had been buying and shipping to each other’s houses to avoid the high cost of shipping between the U.S. and U.K.

I’m still in a state of shock. Since this was sitting next to my hotel bed this morning, I guess that yesterday wasn’t a hangover induced dream. Met Javamagic for a few pints in London yesterday, and he gave me his Cipollina Tribute SG that he had made. Honestly, I’m in a wicked state of shock, and really dumbfounded. Played “Pride of Man” on it this morning at the hotel. I still can’t believe everything is real right now.

That's the second giveaway SG ive heard of on here recently....

He’s doing well. He spent three and a half months at home in Ireland this spring and summer doing restoration work on a lighthouse in the Shannon River Estuary. He’s back in England for a bit now, and building some Gibson GA20 amplifier clones, with his own special touches.

Ive got my eye on a vacation home in Scotland, but my Central American wife is afraid of the cold...

I'm glad Java is doing well. I remember enjoying his posts and his luthery skills. Then one day, he flipped-out on us... :bash:. I had a hard time accepting his reasoning for the outburst. Something else must have crawled up his asss that day... :hmmm:

Brian and I have known each other for a long time. We got along over at ETSG, and started communicating outside the forum. I think the first time we got together was in 2009. We've been getting together every time I go to London for at least one afternoon and/or evening, or if I can get to Ireland for the weekend while he's working on his house I will. My wife and I have a standing offer to use his house near Shannon anytime we'd like, but have not had the time to take him up on the offer. I have played that guitar a few times in the past, and have been a number one fanboy of it since he first built it. His reasoning for moving it on to me makes sense from his point of view, but I'm still in shock that he actually gave it to me. I remember it took over a month of very long days for him to cut all the mother of pearl for all the inlays. It's not like giving someone a low end Gibson or a Strat or something. There is months of work in that when he wasn't working much, and built it because he had too much time on his hands. I'm still in disbelief, and had to look inside the case again just now as I got home.

That's has to be a great feeling to own that particular guitar. Congrats...

Thanks, but I’m still more in shock than feeling anything else. No one has ever given me something that special before. I’m sure after a little while, the shock will wear off, and the excitement will kick in. Even when I’m playing it, I’m still in disbelief.
