The Muse I Adorn

Them is some sweet rides!!
Thank you sir! The 6 string bass has been MUCH less daunting than I had anticipated. It is actually quite a pleasure to play. I’m happy to be back to my normal string gauge on the V. It was an experiment...not a horrible experience, but I will stick with 10-46 on my Gibsons, and like scale length guitars.

I switch up my string compliment, but it is often: 9-11-16-26-36-46

when people SAY a guitiar plays "like butta" they have never played a longscale ebony f.b. FLATwound strung Warwick --- the KEY to this bass is NOT overshooting EVERY NOTE as you slide effortlessly up and down the F.B.
the 3 way adjustable bridge and the adjustable nut--- mean INSANE low action --- its a true LUXURY to play

I just threw a set of the GHS David Gilmour signature strings on one of my SGs to see how they feel. I wanted to drop the diameter of the G string to see if I could balance the sound between strings a bit better. Even though the E, A, and D, are a bit heavier, it still plays easily. So far it sounds nice.

The diameters are .010, .012, .016, .028, .038, .048

I'll be trying them on a few different guitars when I get some time to do a bunch of string changes.

Gonna play at a company Thanksgiving week catered lunch out in the parking lot (about 300 people). The drummer is out of town that week so its gonna be a mostly acoustic line up with a bass player and maybe a keyboard player. So I figure I'd practice on the Line 6 Variax tonight. The acoustic setting and the 12 string setting sound pretty good through the Mesa.

Really nice!

I’m still in a state of shock. Since this was sitting next to my hotel bed this morning, I guess that yesterday wasn’t a hangover induced dream. Met Javamagic for a few pints in London yesterday, and he gave me his Cipollina Tribute SG that he had made. Honestly, I’m in a wicked state of shock, and really dumbfounded. Played “Pride of Man” on it this morning at the hotel. I still can’t believe everything is real right now.
