They do sound amazing.

here are some demo videos

A couple of seven-string ones, including a comparison with stock PRS pickups and one with the ceramic version of the same pickup:

The lead tones on these are especially good.

Okay, I've got the Black Hawks in and I have some photos to show. I still need to get new knobs as the original ones don't fit the new CTS pots. The guitar didn't have a bridge ground wire (apparently this is not necessary for active pickups) so I had to remove a bridge post insert and drill a hole for a new wire with my Tamiya Handy Drill.

I went to see my mate Steve today and he opened the back up and was very impressed by the neatness of the work. Then I said 'plug it in and have a play' ... he loved the bridge pickup but then when he switched to the middle and neck the guitar was dead quiet. It is either the switch (maybe) or a leg on the treble bleed on the neck volume pot touching ground (more likely). None of the connections looked broken but I'll run a multimeter over it ASAP and see what's up

what a shock that must have been.
I have no doubt you will get it resolved in short order.

I opened it up and everything checked out with the multimeter, so I pressed the contacts toward each other slightly with a screwdriver (I don't know if they moved or not), then tested it on the amp and it all worked. I don't know what happened yesterday
