Are There Any Other Saxophone Lovers in Here?

Foreigner effed up with that stuff. They needed more guitar.

Quarter Flash got it done.

Gerry Rafferty just kicks ass.

Candy Dulfer? No clue, but yeah, I'd hit that.

The rest. No. Where's Kenny G?

I have always LOVED Saxophone music and even ventured to learn it at one time. I got really good at making the notes sound sweet, but this was pre-internet so I never got to the song playing stage...

My dad was a Jazz fan when I was a punk kid and thought it sucked...

...a few pop/rock songs thrown in as well.

I am a jazz fan, and used to be a jazz enthusiast, so most certainly. In rock, Chicago did it well

Honestly, when it comes to saxophone in rock 'n' roll, I think it is quite often used in the wrong way. I often find saxophone solos very slick.

However, when it is done right, it is awesome. One of my favourite tunes ever has a great sax solo. I would like this song to be played in my funeral.

I like what Zappa said about saxophones, and that if you want sleeze you need a sax. However, most sax players (especially Kenny G.) are annoying as hell. The solo in the Rocky Horror was good in that it was mixed well. I think that I like baritone and tenor sax better. Alto and soprano sax are just plain evil. Maybe they are pitched too high for my enjoyment.

Agree on Kenny G and exactly why I didn't post any of his stuff...
