NEw exclusive SG "colors"

the binding is here nor there to me, the case though . . . who ships a $1500 instrument in a frigging gig bag?
Ha ha… I guess Gibson does! The gig bag does look nice... for a gig bag! Would this $1500 guitar with a gig bag be worth $1600 with a hard case? Me: Yes! I think this would be a reasonable option for a prospective buyer. But the logistics for a dealer and Gibson might be a PITA because the dealer will need extra space for additional cases, and the cost of sending the unused cases back whether the dealer or Gibson absorbs it...

Believe it or not eclectic, I think I read where many car companies aren't even including a spare tire with cars anymore. With the excuse that no one knows how to change them anyway but simply put in a call to roadside assistance and that is the answer to getting flat tire problems solved. Plus they use reduced weight for fuel efficiency as another basis for their reasoning to not include them.

Still think the amp sound sweet, and it is built in my home town, Baltimore.

I can (just barely) stomach the cream binding on a Les Paul that has cream plastics. On an SG with black rings and a ghastly tortoise pickguard (that would have to be changed) the cream is an egregious poor style choice. With a hard case I probably would have learned to live with it but with both of those strikes on top of the original sin of the pickguard it was just too much for me.

I wouldn't be leaving the lot without a spare in a new car. If any future salesperson wants the deal from me there will be one included or I will walk.

nothing like hijacking a thread. But like guitars with no cases, cars suck if one gets a flat and has no spare or too dumb to know how to install a new spare on the roadside when in need.

Thread hijacking is sort of the norm around here I thought, anyway you kinda tied it into the conversation.

How bout my Epi's creme bits? gballView attachment 30424

And of course my own T Tops

It's fine there, with the cream.

My Traditional has cream binding:

And although I would have preferred white, it just makes it by since the guitar has cream plastics. But really, just squeaks past by a c-hair.

Me like the Frost Blue and the Olive Drab. Are the Block inlays and the resurrected T-Top pickups a CME exclusive for an SG Standard?

And..... $1500 for a USA-made guitar is reasonable, especially if the guitar is flawless.
but I get used Gibsons for 300-700.00 so --- er WHY would I pay 1500.00?? --still usa -- still Gibson-- ??-- often times WITH upgrades---

Those have actually been around for a while. I saw them last year on CME Reverb site. There were only one or two of the five or so colors available at the time...

You will end up walking at many car lots if you are buying new. They just don't include spares or even jacks at many places. I don't think there is a BMW
on any lot that has a spare. The manufacturers are relying on run flat tires. Both my Vette and my wife's BMW have them. So spares and no place to put
one even if you buy it yourself. It's becoming the norm.

I had a flat on a run flat. They are said not to be repairable and no tire shop will touch them. But I plugged the nail hole myself and ran the tires for another 30K +
miles. I just happened to run over the nail when the tire was damn near new and no way I was buying another...
