So I watched this You Tube video the other day showing a guy cooking eggs in the shell on the BBQ. Cook them about 15 minutes then put them in an ice bath for a minute which makes them easy to peel. Claims they taste better than regular hard boiled.
We remodeled the kitchen 3 years ago and bought this fancy range with 6 burners and it had an option for either a griddle (which is what I wanted) or a grill which is what we got
. I just knew a grill inside would, one, make a mess, and two, stink up the joint, and three, the briquettes would smell, well, like a BBQ. So we have not cooked anything on it in 3 years.
Hmmm, eggs, now that’s not messy, seems like a good Sunday morning adventure. So I fire the grill up (it’s electric) and waited until it’s smoking hot. I put 4 eggs on and tell Alexa to set a 15 minute timer. 15 minutes later I take one off, put it in the ice water and wait a minute; cracked it open and it’s barely a soft boiled one. Hmm, needs more time.
“Alexa, set a 10 minute timer”.
The blast radius of an exploding egg is about 8 feet
We had egg bits everywhere. Took about 30 minutes to clean up. Do not try this indoors
