Just for those who don’t already know the medallion is likely the rarest Flying V with exception to the first ones made.
Limited edition medallions to commentate the 1972 Olympic Games.
Notable players are of course Michael Schenker a KK Downing who recently sold his for a pile of cash . Schenker is destroyed and gone I believe .
I think less than 300 made and around a 120 still in playing condition.
James Hetfield played a V because of Schenker as many have. Kirks fav. Player .

Im confused the POLL is dream guitar ---but the title is "V"
Agreed. Hence my pondering in my previous post.
But....since I bought mine as a husk....the specific year, style, and features(that crescent moon, ebony board) that I really wanted...then I made it in to what I wanted(pickups, electronics, Stetsbar, etc.)... I feel that mine qualifies. ;)

I sure would like a Flying V, but I guess it is not my ultimate dream guitar.

If I had to pick only ONE dream guitar, it would have to be a 1964 Gibson SG Standard, but there are so many more I would like to have as well...

I'm lusting for a mid-50s style, wraparound bridge, P90-equipped Les Paul, a ca. 1969 SG Standard, an ES335, a ca. 1968-1973 Les Paul Custom, a vintage Firebird I, an early 1960s SG Special. Hell, I guess if I sold my house and lived in a tent for the rest of my life I might be able to afford at least some of it, but I have a feeling the wife would be less than enthused.

Naturally, I also want "Greeny" as well, Peter Green/Gary Moore's old 1959 Burst, but any 58-60 Burst is so far out of my league I'm not even dreaming about it anymore...

That's what I love about replicas!!!! Gary Moore and Jimmy Page got me excited about 59's long ago....

We have 5 genuine Gibson's and 2 replicas in our band...one is a 1980 Gibson V.
