Yep. They hit a bit heavier, more low-mid grunt, than a Tele or a Strat. Creamier when in overdrive.it is dif for sure....hadnt looked for a guitar in a while..but the p90 SG has got to hit the Fenders in a way that is heavenly...lets see what gear the dude could possibly need..something has to go..lol
Oh, if you’re curious about the 57/57+ thing, I did a clip when I changed them out of the SG in my sig.
If you’re interested, the first half of this clip is them....pretty mellow.
Thanks for the good info ! My Firebird has the 496R i like it, finally put the thing in E standard today. Nice neck sound, grit & fullnessHmmm....I've used both the Gibson 57 Classic and Classic Plus. In fact, there was a 57 Classic Plus in the bridge of the Gibson SG that I gave Adrian.
They are a decent pickup, but even the 'plus' is very low gain, which is perfect for most people, but I cannot make them work for me. I gave the other Gibby 57's I had on hand away.

Recently departed Gibson's shown (above) to the left of their Epiphone replacements:
It's a great pickup for an AC/DC tribute, as it really seems to nail that tone very faithfully.
I experimented a lot with tone and arrived at the conclusion that my signature tone is not happening with less than around 14k, and the Gibson 498T is the one that really impressed me.
The Epiphone H8BN is the equivalent of the Gibson 498T and ohms and output are dead-on. I use the H8BN in both my back-up Les Paul's.
I like the Gibson 496R in the neck, which is the stock (neck) pickup in my 2016 Gibson Les Paul 50's Tribute. The Epiphone equivalent of this is the H6BN. Again, I used these in the neck position of my back-up Les Paul's.
Two brand new sets of H8BN/H6BN for $40.00 shipped.
I change guitars every 3-4 songs right now (currently using 2 Les Paul's) and no one can detect a tonal change when I switch from 498T to H8BN.
By the way, Epiphone makes a Hot 57 Classic, which is the equivalent of a Gibson 57 plus...
Wood spacers too....
