NGD...Dean V Select

I was thinking they'd be good in this one. They don't seem to come with black covers though, and that sucks for a guitar like this IMO
Covers are easy to swap though - you could definitely get black covers to fit Duncans. Just be sure you get trembucker size for the bridge. I know Duncan makes 'em because the Black Winter trembucker is available with black cover.

PS: that axe would look great with blackout covers!

Yeah I'm more in it for the sound rather than color of the pickup though...which is why the Duncans will likely stay for now, at least.
perhaps swap the covers?

Is there room in the cavity to go full on ACTIVE METAL EMG madness?
I have EMGs in other guitars, have used them since the late 90s. I have to say that at this point, they're not my thing. I prefer a hot wound, yet nuanced passive. Just my opinion.

Which pickup exactly???
Duncan Custom - it's the mother pickup that the CustomCustom and the Custom5 are based on. As you probably know, the Custom family all have the same coils, just different magnets. Stock Custom uses a small ceramic, as opposed to the extra thick ones in the Duncan Distortions.

(Duncan Distortion neck model actually makes a nice bright, punchy, medium output bridge pickup - it was originally designed for bridge position and called the SH-7 Seymourizer; I have one of the old ones. Later the model was renamed the SH-6n to be sold as a companion pickup for the Distortion bridge.)

Aside from those two, the third ceramic humbucker I've liked is the Railhammer Chisel bridge. It's tight, fat, and ballsy. Railhammers are pretty unique with the half-rail-and-half-oversized-slug design. I have several - Alnico Grande, a Hyper Vintage set, and the Chisel.

Hey what's the diff betwee the Select series ans others?? I saw a very nice Charcoal burst something Dean V that looks nice but its only 350. Must be a fair difference somewhere in the series. Any ideas? Cheers.
Mfct level and q.c.
they have several levels at Dean--
for instance when I was looking at the Demonator bass
THey had the Demonator Metal man---bolt neck--(I THINK) China Made cheap hardware -- around 220.00 as I recall
28296

The Korean Made --nice hardware (Warwick Bridge Grover tuners ) huge abalone inlays brass nut -neck through construction O.S. version of the US made one
demonator 1.jpg
retailed around 700.00 as I recall

Then the USA MADE (RIGHT HERE IN DA TAMPA SWAMPS)
28298

As I recall a price tag in the 2500.00/3,000.00 realm ----- ......... YOWSA

WHATS nice is you can SCORE the mid price level ones for under 200 used as people confuse them in google searches with the lesser bolt neck ;)

I think many of Deans models fall under this ----- same shape low end boltie option---high end over seas option--- HIGH $$$ USA low volume super quality option--
Ive seen the Factory in Tampa -- they are NOT MASS producing -- the wood is select-- the work is done with care and by just a few guys --
