Now that one looks like a V Select! I had considered actually buying that very one, but I wanted a hardtail. Same guitar, save for the color and bridge...View attachment 28319Ill look at the specs more closely, thanks guys. I did see tne dot markers but I have to read more. I'd rather get quality if I'm gonna have a V
Likely this
Eehhh I might catch poop for this, but I don't have any interest in having a bolt on neck of any kind anymore ever again....Sounds like you nailed the difference . Mostly materials. For the “V” style guitars I prefer the set/through neck .
I love the finish. I have rafts of hard tails but only 4 whammys. Wouldn't hurt to do it this way. If the charcoal burst was a high quality one it would be a tough choice. Now that one looks like a V Select! I had considered actually buying that very one, but I wanted a hardtail. I think it's an excellent quality guitar and I think you should get it!
I suppose I should have worded that a bit differently lol I really just meant anything NOT bolt on....I don't really have much against Fender, I just don't think they're my thing right now. I have a Strat (granted, it's a squire, so...) that was my first guitar, I played that sucker for 17 years before I got anything else...my dad's got some nice Fender Strats, my bandmate has a whole collection of Fenders that he never plays....anyway, I can truthfully say that I've played quite a few but never felt like I found one that was "my" guitar. At least not yet...I think your dead on with the Hard tail statement--
bolt vs set---vs neck through --(you left that one out-lol--)
if its made RIGHT --- to me it doesnt matter---I bought into the SET IS BETTER camp for decades -- then I discovered Fender---- I looked at ALL the bolt neck players---GReat timeless artists --all MAJOR heavy hitters----
and just chalked it all up to personal preference I own all 3 styles and play all three regularly if anything it ads to the individualism and charm of each
Would a STrat be a Strat with a set neck?
IS a Gibson Sonex gonna sound the same with a Set neck?
do Bolt neck Lesters suck (I can tell you....no)
Would the "P" bass or the "F" bass be the same if they had set necks?
I can tell you this--the bolties are INFINATELY easier (and cheaper) to "tweak" or WORK on if you have neck/angle/fret/ or other issues
...I don't see them either. From what I gather, a US model is going to cost at least double what that Indo V Select does...frankly I don't really know how much better they could really get....a thousand dollars or more's worth? I dunno. Maybe.I love the finish. I have rafts of hard tails but only 4 whammys. Wouldn't hurt to do it this way. If the charcoal burst was a high quality one it would be a tough choice.
So Indonesia beats the Chinese ones hey. I don't see any US Vs there.

Dean sells direct?? Not good for their dealers, really. Can't justify it for that. Dot inlays, doesn't look above the Select series to me. Made in USA yes but at that price... It should be better than the rest by a long shot.Gotta go direct to Dean ---

uhm....I turned you on to AFFORDABLE USA made Peavey guitars------ you got me HOOKED on "pricey" boutique MESA amps------Damnit Adrian, why did you turn me on to these Peaveys.
I agree! If that one came in a hardtail, I'd own it instead of the one I got! That’s beautiful Jethro!
I am with you on the hardtailI agree! If that one came in a hardtail, I'd own it instead of the one I got!
My Korean built epi’s where excellent instrumentsThe USA made stuff is very small batch-- 1 CNC machine -- 6 guys -- Ive watched the stages --pickups are wound in Tampa --woods very select---and everything is done by hand in house --so thats the price raiser I guess-- from what I can SEE (and feel) the Korean Dean stuff at the UPPER end of Overseas-- is the same "Spec" as the usa stuff
