NGD...Dean V Select

Ok...quick backstory....on Saturday, I went and played guitar with this guy, and sat in one of his pre show lessons:

Then, I went to the meet and greet and met all these guys again:

Then the rest of my band met em all too:

Then those guys all defaced my favorite V and ruined it's sexy aesthetics!!

So.......
There I was, lookin' at new Vees, see, and I foolishly left my finger hovering above the "order now" button. All was going well until I looked away for just a second, and BAM!!! my finger decided that we needed to have that guitar.

By the time I noticed, it was too late. The deed was done, and the guitar was halfway here.

So here I am, just trying to be making the best of a decent situation.

The pickups are Duncan's, a TB-5 (bridge) and a APH-1 (neck).

Mastadon!!!!

LOVE the smaller - less garish - Epiphone split diamond!!!!!
The Dean's headstock is larger in real life than it appears in the pictures, at least that's how it seems to me. It's probably the one thing that perhaps kept me from being too interested in them before, but with the V it does have a sort of sexy symmetry going on there. It's not going to be mistaken for a Gibson for sure lol! The guitar otherwise is flawless, showed up set up and intonated and all I had to do was tune it up and let 'er rip!

I'm still getting used to that headstock, but I don't think it will be much of a problem for too long.

AND excellent SCORE on the COLLECTABLE (now) Epi Signed AXE!!!!

I have a bass singed by the Misfits---its hidden in a special -- touch it I kill you place in the doom room ;)

I know a drummer and a bass player that would cream their pants for a Misfits signed bass!

Evidently they are supposed to be coming to do a show with the original lineup. Drummer and bass player were thinking about going until they saw the price of the tix ~$400 give or take...I don't think they're going after all lol

But hey- I've been known to drop some heavy cash on stuff like that. See, money is just money. It comes and goes, and it can always be earned back. The memories made at these things though, irreplaceable. You couldn't pay me enough to take the memories back!

400 dollars seems rather insignificant when looked at from this perspective.

Excuse me while I whip this out:
Thanks...

Ah, okay. It wasn't in the initial post & I didn't see his answer anywhere.

Custom is a great choice for an axe like that. Classic tone with modern push - it's like a big fat angry PAF.
Apologies....I figured you'd find it sooner or later lol didn't mean to ignore you!

My initial thought was that I'd be replacing the Duncans with something like maybe a '57 classic.....but actually, I think I'll leave em. They sound very good. I was afraid they'd be too hot but they're quite nice.

I'm a fan of the Custom - it's one of the few ceramic humbuckers I've really bonded with. Also takes different magnets very well for fine tuning the tone character.
