TrueI'd start with the easy stuff and re-solder the jack wires and see if that helps. Afterall, Jacks are what see the most friction.
never cut the red wire ...........

agreed with that fine peppered maniac fella--So this morning I removed the jack, nothing wrong with it except one of the metal connectors is loose on a wire so its not holding to the jack. Luckily EMG gives you a complete harness with a volume and tone pot as well as jack with each pickup. so I have enough to replace everything, I replaced that wire and while now it wont move, it wasn't the issue, I went and replaced the battery connector as well... not it either... I'm so tempted to remove that whole center terminal that I called a relay tomorrow and replace that and see if that works and just slowly try to narrow it down to whatever it might be.
Sorry for your troubles, M89. One thing I find out thru my troubles, they always put another arrow in my quiver if I file the FIXES in my memory for when and if the same problem arises. Then fixing problem usually goes super fast due to not having to muddle through all the things that weren't the cause.
