As was said, the divide and conquer method is a legitimate old school approach.

I thought you had done so early on, but when things act up, eliminate every thing or split things in the middle and go from there.
 
Yes, so wouldn't it need a matching reverse polarity if Ray has one like it and his other pedals and power supply are the opposite?

Another option is Bro RVA has to get to the ROOT of the Squealin PIG. Or at least verify if in his daisy chain of events, does he have all the same polarity pedals and matching PS? Or is there an oddball or 2 with the opposite polarity mixed in and thus to me would seem to possibly act like my incident. Or are we still needing further research of the cause elsewhere?

We also don't if he's getting enough power to all the pedals, or the quality and performance of the power supplies themselves.

Ray could plug his whole rig into his clothes drier or install a 50A breaker like for an ARC Welder and be good to go if this is the case.
 
Seriously we need more pics of the NYC Pedal Condo -- or is that more of a Brown Stone? 3 stories with ground floor parking or 4??? ;)

Usually when you put in a power supply with the wrong polarity you fry the pedal. Happened to a doofus I know

Most pedals incorporate a "reverse polarity protection" diode. This is the diode with its guts blown out in the tube screamer pic that Chillipepermaniac posted earlier.
The diode takes the brunt when a wrong polarity supply is used, so sparing the circuit. Replacing the diode will restore the pedal to full working order.
It's ok to use positive ground & negative ground pedals together in the signal chain so long as each pedal is powered with the correct polarity.
My power bricks have switchable polarity (& variable voltage) on a couple of the independent supplies. A good feature to look for when checking out multi supply power bricks. Cheers
