Klon

Before I sold it, I modded the SP2's boost circuit by replacing a .1uF cap with a .015uF cap. This removed some of the low frequencies from being boosted. Which to me, it sounded much better.

Thanks for the tip Sysco, much appreciated. Did you experiment with other values before the 0.015uf?
Cheers

Ok, I removed the 0.1uf cap, threw in a couple of sockets & plugged in an 0.015uf (MKT box cap), all with the board still in place. Tried it at rehearsal last night, both the boost by itself & with the overdrive on. Perfect value, no need to try any others. Thanks again Sysco, much appreciated. Cheers

Daggnabbitt! I was watching some That Pedal Show's last night and 1 of them had a Marshall Guv'nor MKI (I have 1 due Friday) being pushed by a real Klon and it sounded glorious...………..into a real JTM45 :( I need to hit the lottery!

Glad that value is working for you. Sometimes I'm not quite sure what I'm hearing. It's nice to hear a verification like this. My reference amp for beautiful clean tones is my Allen Sweet Spot, which is loosely based on a Blackface Princeton Reverb. Reducing the lower frequencies from being boosted at the boost circuit kept the amp sounding tight with no perceivable loss in bass. Then I thought that the modded boost circuit of the Silver Pony 2 might not sound good with one of my JCM800s. But I was wrong, and it sounded darn good with the JCM. Which also reminds me why I love treble boosters combined with a lot of natural gain coming from the amp... :dood:

I am VERY interested in what you far more experienced guys thing about the Mosky Klon clones.
I hear the QC is a bit spotty on all of them - one of mine below the power lead wiggles out easily.

I have the Mosky Obsessive drive (OCDish clone) and Silver MM (Timmy clone).
I am under impressed with both so far, BUT some of that was while trying to find good tones with that BWG P90 I am having issues with.
I have never played either of the real OCD or Timmy either.

The Youtube vids sound good....
They always do.

I just may snag a Golden Horse - WTF <$19. is less than a 30-pack of the beer I am trying to drink less of........

Well if it makes you feel any better I wasn't really impressed with an OCD or a TIM. And no Guv'nor clones for me :)
I decided to trade a couple pedals I wasn't really happy with and threw a few dollars in to but basically kept the 2 OD's I liked (Jubilee & SD-1) and got a couple new ones in, my plan was to trade what I don't like for a Reverb & or a Compression pedal.....well I ended up with 4 dirt pedals I really like :p Hate when that happens! Moving the SD-1 & Jubilee to my headphone board. Can you say I have been having fun the past couple days?

its "meah"---- dirt pedals just dont impress me anymore that I have a Mesa

Yeah guys lets have some feedback on those Mosky pedals, esp. that Golden Horse.
a lot of the reviews are really good and as usual the Youtube demos sound good too.
I got some pretty good tones with my 18w just into break up and pushed with the Mosky Obsessive but the Dano Daddy 'O (Guv'nor clone) is still better for me for crunch / not a lot of gain tones. Both with the Agile unknown P90s and Liquid with stock neck middle and Gibson bridge P90.
