too late--- and its a modeling amp....... booo modeling amps (lol) just being a dick--
To be fair, the Boss Katanas are not advertised as modeling amps per se. In general, yes they have 5 voices: Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, & Acoustic. I guess you can say that this voicing reminds of "this", and this other voicing reminds me of "that", but the Katanas really have their own thing going.

My 10 minute experience with one was at the local shop. Set only at the 1/2 watt setting. Demoed it mostly on Clean and Brown. Very impressed. Very full sounding... dare I say: Tubey sounding! The Brown is most awesome. I felt I could stay on that voicing all day, because it would still clean up nicely when backing off on the guitar's volume. A lot of refined SS technology packed into that amp at a redicously low price. Then there's those built-in Boss effects... Oh Lord... (y)

Sysco -- Im just bustin yer balls--- Ive probably owned and sampled and rubbed my junk on more modeling amps than anyone here--

and I would have a Fender mustang-- any day of the week --- solid great sounding fun easy to use software-- perfect amps -- and can be had for so little money it should be illegal--

the Katana is also a value -- youd spend thousands buyin all them boss pedals individually -- its a Ferengi approved model for sure ;)

It's kinda a weird amp for me to get, but I've tried quite a few other amps such as 3 or 4 low watt ss and 3 low watt tube amps, so I want to get a mid-sized ss with a few voices that I like and straightforward to use (not modelling).

I'm kinda searching through different amps, buying and selling, trying different stuff is part of the fun.

I very nearly got this in the sale locally, with the 12" Celestion, for $350 new, but decided I didn't want another small tube amp because I can't even push 4 or 5 watts in my apartment to the required levels, and also I want a bit more variety of sounds than the Vox has.

It'll be interesting to find out if the ss that's on it's way has anything like the fun gritty low OD sounds (which I love most of all) and the punkier driven sounds that the Marshall DSL5 with the celesion greenback had (&, I want to get with the Epi special). I am being naively hopeful that I might get something like that, but can have a bit more ss volume without getting too loud - hitting the fun zone.

I was at my Local shop early this week, I was talking with the Rep who works for the Distributor of Orange amps Canada, out of Montreal. He told me they are selling lots of Orange here. The 35RTs and Pro 120 Heads for example. Over all Orange he says is selling very well.

They are obviously good amps/great amps; everyone should own an Orange at some point. My worry is: are the sounds too samey (a bit like eESGe was saying about the Vox)?

Roland....

No, my name is Mr Grumpy. BTW, the amp I purchased is, I hope, similarish to an amp that you like a lot.

I admit, after looking at the connectivity options, it looks attractive and will be great for many people. But, I've had a couple of similar Digitech, an RP and an older version, contraptions and never really used them and found it hard setting a sound I like - that's probably my numbskullness... I went for simple turn on, alter a couple of rotary knobs and you're away; like me, simple.

The Russians make this and it smokes anything Line-6 has ever made I'm on a waiting list now 68 amps 100 effects drum machine looper demo's sound great
