Do any of you vape?

I stopped smoking about a year ago and started vaping. I dont claim to have truly quit anything as I am still ingesting nicotine. Im just not ingesting the tar anymore. I can breathe so much better and i dont hack and cough. Im not saying vaping is a healthy alternative, its just a method of getting nicotine other than tar filled smoke. I vape 18mg e liquid, its pretty strong. Most people vape 6 to 12mg, I was a two pack a day smoker of pall malls so i was used to ingesting a lot of nicotine so i went with 18mg. I enjoy vaping, the flavors are awesome! My favorite flavor is donuts. If youre a smoker and dont want to give up nicotine. Nicotine replacement with a vape works, at least it did for me.

never tried it-- -stopped smoking a LONG time go--- like in the early 90's -- started again for a few months after my divorce---er a decade ago--- so -- uhm...no...-- yes I think I am firmly a NO on that one...

My son has one of them vape things-- smells like fruitloops

I quit smoking January 7th 2010, from a similar sounding habit to yours...perhaps a little less....pack, and change a day. I haven’t lit a cigarette since I charged my first vaping device.
Now, I can run circles around the two brothers in my band that still smoke. I don’t believe either one can string the singing of more than 3 songs together without a break. I can do over an hour long set with no troubles now... Singing anything from Floyd, to Tool, to Alice In Chains etc. “I feel a lot better” is an understatement to me.
My vape of choice is a blend of Strawberries N Cream, and RY4(an old flavor)...3-6mg of nicotine...I’ve gone as low as 0 for a bit, and all but quit, but the grumpies can’t be tolerated in my workplace...my best work is done with a calm, and steady hand.
I’m not dead yet, but if I was still smoking....who knows....I know that I don’t think twice about doing a lot of things that would be more challenging, if not deadly, if I were still smoking cigarettes.
Works for me.

I know that there is at least one other here that vapes.

Oh yeah, and a lot of vape mods make excellent, impromptu, slides for guitar.

I've lost so many friends, family and loveones to smoking. I can't believe it's still legal. What else kills you when you use it properly, and gets sold on every street corner. They've made billions and billions off of it. Sometimes it makes me angry.

I quit cigarettes almost 4 years ago. I also vape. I had to quit smoking cigarettes. I got pneumonia 3 times in my left lung in 6 months. I was also having a hard time breathing at night. My doctor suggested that smoking was the cause of my lung infections. So I went to a vape shop and bought the stuff and quit. I can breathe so much better now. I started with 19 mg of nicotine, now i use 9 mg. I know it's not exactly healthy to vape but it is healthier than smoking tobacco. I'm just not ready to quit smoking yet.

My sister-in-law’s husband was sent home to die a few days ago.

He has inoperable, stage-four lung cancer from smoking his whole life. Radiation isn’t doing any good. So, he’s in hospice now awaiting the end.

He played a little guitar. The last I knew he had a Telecaster. He is a nice enough guy. But, death by cigarette is a hard way to go.

I agree, Chubbles. The same holds true for demon alcohol.
Factor in DUI fatalities, liver disease and broken families.
Some can handle it, some THINK they can handle it, and others get destroyed by it and lose everything.

Agreed. I couldn’t have conveyed the sentiment any better...but I’m still young enough to have not had too many friends suffer the final deadly effects of smoking...most have quit by now, but I still have the two band mates that are destroying themselves a bit faster every passing day.
However, I have been around long enough to lose people to alcohol, and DUI.

I’m not sure I agree with the idea of making it illegal. The US witnessed how this sort of thing can backfire during our Prohibition era. Whereas I certainly don’t advocate tobacco use, criminalizing it will certainly give rise to a whole new genre of organized crime. This will have the cascading effect of pressuring law enforcement resources.

What’s more, tobacco use has been steadily on the decline for years, anyway. To their credit, today’s young people don’t start smoking like young people used to.

No. As much as I dislike tobacco use, I think the better option is to keep it legal, regulate it, tax it, and continue building awareness of its dangers.

When I was a kid before these 2010's where I'd be labeled a terrorist, I hated cigarettes so much I would sometimes quip of wishing I could blow up RJR and Phillip Morris to eradicate the world of those damn things. Of course this would not put a dent in the problem, but just some fool notions of a goofy kid wishing they didn't exist.

Maybe vape some opium smoke from out of an overturned glass???
Let’s be clear on the physics of vaping...there is no fire involved, no burning materials...a liquid is boiled by a metal coil(a twisted wire). The wire is heated via connection to a battery. The wire is surrounded by a wicking material(often cotton) that is soaked with e-liquid(a solution usually containing vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, flavoring, and nicotine). When power is engaged, the coil heats up, the surrounding liquid soaked wicking material produces a flavored steam...not smoke.(unless you run it dry)
