I scored a very nice set of USA Duncan P-bass pups---(35.00!!!)

and well-- me being me --- I put them in a...........................squire P BASS!!!!! that cost 50.00 at a pawn shop--- its had the eSGEe patent applied for set up -- and is now proclaimed FRIGGIN AWESOME --

low action plays and sounds as good as basses costing 10 TIMES as much -- love it!

HEre it is with its new pup among the SQUIRE boomstick HORDE

always LOVED the way the P bass felt and played -- but it lacked ---well BOOM---- it did "o.k." but the Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Lb pups REALLY brought it up to the level ---well of the Gibsons and Peaveys

now looking for "deals" on similar for the Jazz bass !!! lol

HA! Im on the hunt for some for the Jazz Bass lol

they really added a depth to the P bass that the stockers didnt offer --- this thing is a BEAST now --- actually I was playing my Tele-- and well-- said "F" that and grabbed the P bass again--- cant get over the change --- very happy

I still remember researching the different P pups,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, like SPB 1, SPB 2, 3, Qtr Lb etc. when researching what Steve Harris uses for his Maiden work. Can't remember the info, but I remember researching.

Awesome pics Dave. I WAS thinking I was right, the Qtr Pounders are bigger than say the SpB1 and Spb4 etc.

L-R: stacked BVol/NVol, high Z frequency filter, stacked low-mid/high-mid boost/cut, stacked bass/treble boost/cut, battery level indicator, output jack

I did eventually install a battery box. Makes it much better because removing the preamp and refitting it just to change batteries is a major pain.
