Never tried them. I've been using the fake-tort Fender Heavies for as long as I can remember.

I started (as maybe most due) using thin picks--- the older I get the more I like a thicker one-- I bought the Petrucci to try ....and they sat in a jar with many other versions of picks I have collected over the years---I was using a Fender medium perloid green one for like 2 years--- and I LOST IT :( I JUST had it wore in right-- it was PERFECT -- so I got out the container of picks and started the painful process of picking one at a time and using it for a little while and switching out of a whole ceramic desert cup full of PICKS the JP was the winner and been using it ever since

Interesting. Maybe I should try them. I've found that, ironically, it's easier to play with a light feel and deft picking hand with a heavier pick. The light ones bend and twist too much and you end up having to be rougher with them to get the job done.
 
Itried those for a bit as well. Ray sent me a couple to try as I recall----I used a red one for sometime-----till I lost it :( and --well see previous post for the run down
 
I’ve been replacing all my picks with the yellow Dava picks.

Now and then, I still run across one of the gray, nylon Dunlop picks I used to use. I’ll toss ‘em in a drawer, but I keep the yellow Dava picks in my guitar cases.
 
I liked the DAVA -- but it was very tiny---- I like a little bit bigger pick..longer maybe -- dunno -- it was o.k. but the JP just --- works
 
ALSO -- I like the tone--- and IMHO the PICK -- is more important than the WOOD in tone--

do -- as I have done -- get a BOWL full of picks of VARIOUS gauges sizes and materials and try them -- back to back to back-- same guitar -- same amp settings -- touch NOTHING but the pick change-- and you will hear -- how BIG a difference it makes.

They make larger, normal-sized picks, too.

If you had a really small one, you probably had a jazz pick.

The ones I use are the normal-sized picks.

Yup.

I’ve made or tried all sorts of picks - celluloid, nylon, tortex, graphite (2 mm thick), polished agate, glass, wood, metal, and even thick pig skin.
 
I have tried many picks, I finally found the permanent one for me. I need a pick that is firm enough to do picking and flexible enough to get good strumming. This pick does both so well. Because I play rythem and lead , I need the best of both worlds and this pick does it for me.
