Room Name for other instruments

First I thought of "No Strings Attached" but thought it imperfect because of violins, pianos etc etc that do have strings attached. Yet, it still aint bad with a definition behind it like we see on our Forum page. Then I say, 'wait a tic,.. we don't have breif definitions of our Forum Rooms after the room names!'

That raises the question of ''should there be a brief outline or definition of what each Room Name covers that basically defines what material would be appropriate for that room and what to expect there in each one?"

I also liked 'The Orchestra Pit' but again, we can find guitars, basses & drums in orchestras so it really gets hard to find a defining name that nails the topic & doesn't leave questions without a small definition after the Room name.

Don't forget Mandolins, Banjos, Balalaikas,

Ukes, Jew's Harps,

The banjos, balalaikas, mandolins, dulcimers and all the ancient things like lutes would fit happily into Dylan's room, won't they?

The Garden of Eden - another idea for the great and cool musical voices?
And if it really must be a room:

The Garden Room
Winter Garden - Sun Room - Conservatory
(all three seem to have the meaning of the German "Wintergarten", and conservatory the double meaning of an ambitious music school as well...)

I am kind of old fashioned. I vote for "All Instruments Free For ALL Discussions"

Of course since it seems we have set a precedent where sections have titles we have to guess WTF the topics included within are, I vote for

"Name your Poison."

I agree with Chilli on this... "Name Your Poison"... As long as it's not the '80s Hair Metal band "Poison"... They should have been poisoned! OK, OK.... I'll shut up now! ;)

There should and there is.

Thats what I thought but after the main Room Name there really isn't!

MayBea (lol, like that one BeaLove?? lol) you were thinking of the 'other' site that shan't be mentioned which actually did have brief definitions of the sub-categories??

The site that shan't be mentioned by name.. (below)

I know, surprise huh? All the 'sub' rooms (sub-categories) are left up to our interpretation & guess work. And it is a sub category we are talking about finding an appropriate name for and that was my intended point. I can see how my use of un-established terminology or lack of appropriate familiar terms for these 'sub-rooms' / 'sub-categories' might have left some confusion in the room.

Although some may seem obvious (IE: Ebony & Ivory meaning keyboards), others may take a bit of looking into before some of us will understand the topic & appropriate content (IE: Room Eleven). Remember to look at this as a fresh newby trying to learn, navigate & properly participate on our forum! They are the ones that going to have the hardest job of it all.

Thus my apprehension of having a cool & tricky name that doesn't adequately define the new 'other instruments' room by name alone.

So again, would it be user friendly & courteous for us to provide additional definitions for the sub-categories / rooms?

Actually if you put the cursor over each title, you will see that the description is there. It may work differently on other forums because of different theme software. I do realize that this function does not work on cell phones and I will check into making it visible all the time on all devices.

Cool Wav, but with a lot of members here being old farts with not much internet savvy, will never think of doing that. I didn't know those descriptions were there.

I was meaning to fix this a while back when I first site this site up, but with so much stuff to do at the same time, it slipped off of my radar. If you look now you will see the description under each category.

Grant, you may want to slightly expound on the Room Eleven contents and add the word Amp somewhere...
