Kerry Brown
Ambassador of the Great Northern Bar Jams
I posted in another thread that a local chain had these on special and I had ordered one. It arrived yesterday afternoon. They only had open box stock left so I was a little leery. I didn't need to be. This is hands down the best setup Gibson I've bought new in the past several years. It had obviously been setup at the dealer. The fret ends had been touched up, string height, intonation etc was almost perfect. The strings looked brand new. My only complaint is the nut slot for G string is little high. The G#, A, and A# are just a touch sharp if you fret hard. It's an easy fix. Going to take it to a jam tonight but so far I really like it. It is quite light for a Les Paul but it rings very loud acoustically and amplified it has some great sustain. I have left the stock 490 pickups in it for now. I have a set of custom wound PAFs that will eventually go in but for now the 490s sound great while I learn the guitar's quirks. The guitar looks much better than the pics show. The finish is very glossy on the top with the worn finish on the sides and back.

. Congrats, KB...
