So Anyway...

They said he was too short. They said he was out of shape and could not last all the way through a 30-minute moto. It took only two motos for Ricky Carmichael to silence his critics, as he took #70 (big gut, love handles, and all) to the overall win at the 1997 Gatorback National. In what was, at the time, the most dominating rookie season in the history of the sport, RC laid waste to the 125 class all summer long, leaving small hints here and there there more than just some profound speed in his riding. There is no mistaking greatness, as it does not try to hide itself. At the conclusion of the 1997 outdoor season, many were asking themselves, “How great will this kid become?” Fast-forward almost 10 years to present time and they have their answer: GOAT.

RC was a master for sure---
but again I point out why my "career" was cut short--- I out grew Ricky in 8th grade----- racing on bikes or horses is a small mans game cant get a 250 cc to haul a 6'1" 220lb white boy around at a competitive speed---
I can pick the bike up and smack Ricki with it though ----- well probably not he is probably still pretty fast off the bike!!! lol

THIS was one of my all time favortie stunts --- I watched Evil (heavy Harlet with TWIN shocks) crash ----(even had the poster --- Evil Jumps the Palace)

I had chills when I saw this:

I've seen Mike Metzger and Brian Deegan race MX, and basically, they were average. They were back of the pack racers.

However, Metzger And Deegan had BALLS, and they pioneered the extreme jump contests to where they are today.

And of course, Deegan brought us, Metal Mulitia!!

And then came Travis Pastrana. On July 18, he will jump an Indian Scout 750 over 16 greyhound buses...2 more than Evel Knievel did. Actual he'll be doing three Knievel jumps including jumping over the fountains at Caesers Palace. All live..check it out...

So, anyway.....
Did my first nut slot resurface / build up with mixed results.
No pics so I 'll tell my tale as folklore.

I did the baking soda and super glue.
The method I used was to pack the slot with baking soda then dab the glue on top, it is supposed to seep down and wet the baking soda through. I probably just did not use enough glue.

I used new glue, standard type not a gel, but it did not mix thoroughly.
when I filed the slot i cut through most of the glue and powdered baking soda underneath.
I dabbed more glue in the slot let dry, then filed it to depth and angle.
It worked out ok but I dont know if it will last.
This is on the D string of the hardtaill AXL LP Jr husk build so there is no trem but it gets a good bit of bends.

We shall see.

You can get superglue in different viscosities. Buy the thin one

When you say "pack", hopefully you don't really pack the baking soda hard into the slot. Let the baking soda fall into the slot, and carefully blow off the excess with your finger covering the slot. Try not to pack down the baking soda. Then with a pippete, drop the thin cyanoacrylate glue (commonly referred to as CA glue or super glue) over the slot. The baking soda is used to form a chemical reaction with the glue that dries almost instantly and becomes harder than bone or, whatever other nut material.

Yep i took a pinch of it and then packed it down, I will try more of a sprinkle next time, and I think the glue is a thin enough mixture.

I saw that SG deal too; I figured for years it would be a used SG special for around $500 as my most likely first Gibson but thats hard to pass up.

just ordered some thin glue; will try this again and do it right, pronto.
Sub standard work; Its bugging me.
I have a jar with some rice, gonna try to preserve the shelf life as well.
