My McCarty 58 is nothing like a Les Paul. It doesn't play like one, and it doesn't sound like one. It just sounds like itself. It has the best neck of any guitar I own - miles better than my Les Paul.

Don't put Paul down for trying to do his best. If Gibson had paid as much attention to their product they might still be in business.

The guy is off. The guitar that landed PRS in court with Gibson was the PRS Single Cut. The McCarty was originally a double cut which Paul worked on with Dave Grissom. Dave was mad it did not get named as his signature model, so the DGT came out, which was very close to the McCarty

I’m a PRS fan and I don’t think they feel or sound anything like a Les Paul, at least the ones I have. I love their wide thin neck, it just fits my hands perfectly. That was some nice eye candy in the video.

That one Carlos plays is a Santana SE I think a SE. SE is some language that means a lot less. They are not made in Merica.

I have had a Santana PRS SE -- and I currently have an SE standard ---- TBTH -- I like the standard MUCH better

Definitely some nice guitars shown there. Never even played a PRS, let alone owned one. Might have to look to remedying that some time in the future. Cheers

I love Carlos Santana's Gibson tone from the 70s. I think he sounds much thiner now. It might just be effects/amplification. I will always be a fan. My first "real" electric was almost a Gibby L6S. I chose a Sonex 180. I regret it.

I am sorry to hear that ---I love my Sonex 180-- its a great guitar in its right--- but it is no vintage Les Paul for sure-- different tone form the RESINWOOD
