I like this demo too about the straight vs angle cabs
I would rather have one guitar and 5 amps...
I'll tell you that a 40 watt DSL40C at full volume through a 4x12 is loud enough even for outdoor use.
I don't hoard....uh hmmm...E.s.g.
I can't remember if I ever asked you Robert, but have you ever played any Vox amps like AC10, 30, etc?
I know the sound a bit but have never made an effort to try any for myself.
Hey, ever wonder why some folks post numbers get way up there way fast?
Hmmm??Hey, ever wonder why some folks post numbers get way up there way fast?
Hmmm??
And here I thought that the search for your tone being over is because you found the Tone Rooms![]()

Through hearing it and reading your reply to this video, Barry; I am now even more enlightened about how stacking up 2x12's would sound vs 4x12 A and Straight cabs. It seems one would have to tilt a 2x12 upward if stacked upon another 2x12 to achieve the same sound difference. But then again, would the sound also be subtly different since all 4 speakers are not in the same box?Time after time the slanted A cab halfstack sounded smoother & less brittle more focused with less highs than the deeper straight front B halfstack.
I certainly would have thought it somewhat reversed!
I figure the more gear I have the better I sound(sad yes i know--- if I had ALL THE GEAR I would still suck)
-----19 guitars is NOT a hoard .........herd maybe........o.k. 6 bass guitars IS A BIT over the top.......wait......no its 7 poop.........where are they all coming from?????
I think they are reproducing at night or something.........damn it.......
The missus is complaining about me having 3 guitars,
SHe has 10 dogs....a flock of birds and barn animals as well (pigs---goats)
she would not DARE make a peep about my guitar herd .........I put up with WAY more than she does.......
now I know some folks only have 2 guitars---1 electric 1 acoustic..... and for my skill level THAT would be enough .....but.......again ....I have to have SOMETHING to do to avoid the critters.....lol
Adrian, etc. Once while in my mom and pop guitar shop, I heard the owner talking to a trucker named Big John. He said John used to do all sorts of not so wholesome stuff in his down time. Some time after meeting the shop owner, he started buying guitars, how to videos and other equipment to further his learning guitar instead of those other things while he was in his "rest" time from being on the road. He even had little amps and tv, dvd player etc in his truck.
Anyway, it was like a statement of how pursuing guitars whatever the prices, and number of them, could still be way cheaper than less than positive pursuits ( drinking, whoring around, etc,) I also see music as a much less expensive pursuit than say such things as therapists if one was depressed and needed help where instead just learning how to jam and enjoy playing and pleasure from guitars would replace costly psychiatrists.
just a thought.
