Your guitar tones

I see, it makes total sense along with other things you have shared about your music background.

I, on the other hand LOVE to listen to the loud and distorted Rock music, but don't really enjoy playing it.

I came into the guitar too late to have any chops playing things that require a lot of speed and dexterity. I find
the Blues and Prog Rock much easier to get a hold of.

This song (posted here less vocals) is a good example of my natural playing and arranging style. All the solo parts contained here are improvisation:

Road To Hell - Rory Gallagher Cover - Instruments ONLY

This was played on my 2016 Gibson Les Paul (498T) with all guitar tone and volumes controls at 100% through the Blackstar ID-Core 100 into my DAW totally dry. Only reverb and delay were added.

This solo tone, while many would consider it average - is the solo tone that get's me excited, while I feel the rhythm parts are a little bit thin....

Sounds great to me! If you have access to a single coil Strat you should play this again and compare...
