Yet another project...

Some of you might remember my blue jean covered speaker cab I built several years ago. Well, one of the speaker cones got for band I felt it was too big a tear to patch with my tried and true fiberglass repair method.

I had a 12" speaker with a small tear in it and decided to build a single 12 cab out of scrap 1/2" plywood.

So far so good! Just need more blue jeans!

I patched the speaker with fiberglass veil on both sides of the cone and my friend an I spent about an hour coming up with the cab.

Can't wait to get it wired up and try it out!

Nice project. But just in case that fibreglass patch doesn't work, you can get a re-coning kit

Interesting! I did a fiberglass patch on my Fender 4x10 over ten years ago and it has held up well and sounds good.

Nice craftsmanship there Shreddy. Nice joints, but maybe you should use solid 1x2s for the rear cover screw anchors, just saying.

Some of my favorite speakers have had repaired cones, and spray paint as far as the goes.

Thanks fellas! The back plate anchors are glued down. If they fail I will replace them with something better. It's pretty solid as it is though.

Got 'er done! Got the blue jeans upholstered on the cab last weekend lacquered it last week and went to the thrift shop to find something cool for a grille cloth .

I think it's pretty groovy!

AND I found a new hat for 2 bucks!
