$18.99 + shipping of $29.93 to Korea, so I could buy these for $48 should I wish to.

I was considering buying a PU cover, and stumbled across this bargain.

2,Gibson Guitar Genuine Heavy Plastic Pickup Cases For Humbuckers/Clean.. | eBay

Betty, I put some of those Gibson boxes in a Strat one time. OMG I could not stand the 60 cycle hum they put out.
Swapped some hot rails in and all was better.

I had me a mess of those Gibson boxes....LOL

I had three sets of new Gibson 'humbuckers' that developed a lot of buzz/hum and also picked up local FM radio stations. Switched pickups and it went away. My brand new Gibson 50's Tribute Les Paul did the same thing. I even made a video of the noise and switched between guitars on the video and sent this to Gibson AR. Upon inspection, the Gibson warranty technician in Hollywood advised they've been seeing a lot of shorts and problems with both Gibson pickups and with the PCB's. He also showed me a rack of new Gibson's in his shop waiting for replacement pickups under warranty. I had no idea how many people were having the same problem until I started searching for You Tube videos of buzzing/humming Gibson's'.

At that point, after three brand new Gibson's and 3 sets of new Gibson pickups, I set aside my historical fascination with the vintage Gibson's I grew up playing and decided to build my own guitars and have my own pickups wound for me. Even my first, totally unshielded prototype was dead quiet.

I only have one Gibson left that I cannot seem to find a home for. There's nothing Gibson in it anymore, but now it's totally quiet. It's only used by my music students now...

It's popular with the student's who get a kick out of playing a "real" Gibson, well at least it's real Gibson wood anyways... :)

I'm not saying the boxes are the very best one could buy, but the AY Gibson box is the best I've ever heard a humbucker box in the bridge position (maybe that was due to the superior branding and authentic 60s style cardboard). &, I'm not promoting Gibson boxes here, but the Gibson box I would have gotten with the 490R if it had come in a box would have been magnificently growly in a way that inferior boxes, such as Chinese cardboard, would not have achieved, imho.

As we know, FACT, electronics and nonsense like that have a fraction of the affect that a nicely crafted and constructed pickup box has.

Those all wood boxes sound great too... :-)

I have four or five of those Gibson boxes, and every one has been spectacular in all imaginable ways. Clarity is excellent.
If you choose to go with them, I would wager that you will be satisfied with their performance.

I don't have any Gibson boxes, but I do have a Seymour Duncan box - for a SET of pickups - not just a single pickup!

The tone is killer.
