Would you sell a special guitar that you rarely use?

Save it for your old age. You would miss it like you wouldn't believe once it was gone.
That's what I'm afraid of. Maybe I should slap on a set of 008's and play it for a week. It's th eonly guitar that doesn't have 008's, since it doesn't get used much I haven't bothered...

I'll do that right now actually.

It's slinky now :D

I've been playing it back and forth, fooling around with the amp and pedals and playing it to some tracks from a record. It's nice, versatile with fun pickup options. Will I start reaching for it? I don't know... Sell it? Hardly...

It's hard to believe how massive the tone difference is between this and the SG, the SG sounds very refined and sophisticated in comparison.

I have several that for various and or sentimental reasons will never leave -- a few are even in CASES and stowed away-- I pull them out (as I did this evening with one I truly adore...... USA Made NEck through Peavey Unity bass......almost minty-- (now ) with Seymour Duncans ---
Peavey Dyna Unity.jpg
the neck is amazing the tones wonderful it plays effortlessly and is one fo the lightest most comfortable basses I own....its CASED most the time for its protection (as is the L1970 Les Paul recording guitar and the Squire Jazz Bass signed by the MISFITS (both mega keepers)
I have some ODDBALLS -- that were gifts -- hand me downs or trades with freinds that will go no where -- one of those ( A peavey Patriot "massaged" and made WONDEFUL by our very own @Hackmaster was "lent" to my Son who at 30 (ugh Im old) is just now LEARNING guitar......and part of his Christmas was a SOLID good "starter set up"

Was just mentioning to RVA that my "GAS" has started faltering................Ive amassed a nice little pile of toys I LIKE ......and it has to be something VERY SPECIAL (or STUPID CHEAP w/ great PROFIT POTENTIAL) for me to even consider it -- franklyIm out of room -- and own everything I ever wanted....(within reason -- Anyone Has an Original BC Rich Eagle orold Guild Bass they want to GIVE away Im your Huckleberry ;) )

I have this guitar, a great guitar, that I rarely use. There is nothing wrong with it, I like it, it looks good, plays good and sounds good but still it's rarely used. Sometimes I pick it up because I think I should, I plug it in and play it thinking wow, this plays great and it sounds great, I should use it more often. Then I put it back down after 15 minutes and pick one of the others up that I end up playing for hours. I don't know why it is this way, there's nothing tangible.

The guitar in question is fairly rare, I've seen photos of others but I've never seen another one for sale. In its current condition it might be worth $400-$500, max. If the right buyer comes along.

So why get rid of it? Well, I'm not sure I will but I would like to thin the herd to 4 electrics, plus the acoustic and the bass, basically what I can fit on the walls in order to free up some space in my mancave. Then I'd like to get some shelves up to get some stuff off the floor, paint a wall in a nice color (red?), add some good light and family wish for sound proofing too. In short, make it more a place of inspiration than an office/dump.
Pretty much everytime I sell a guitar, I wish later I didn't.
Remember why I bought it in the first place.....

I've sold 4.
I liked them but just found I was playing others more and didnt miss playing them.
3 were redundant where I had another SG, strat, or LP type that I liked better, and the Jaguar I just never quite felt comfortable with.
And there was nothing sound or pickup wise that made them different enough from the others.

Thankfully, I never HAD to sell something to house and feed my family.

no regerts.
