I am pretty sure most everyone in here already knows I have Alex Lifeson as my top favorite guitarist right up there with Gilmour, Nugent, Gallagher, All the KINGS, Iommi and Michael Schenker.

To me if Rush never recorded another song, this one would still confirm Alex as one of the sickest guitar players alive and deserving of much regard.

Having listened to countless hours of RUSH. I must say that his early ES days will always be my favorite and thus Gibson ES 335-355's will always be in my musical heart as well.

Tell me your favorite guitar and player along with example of their performances with it.

A love a good semi-hollowbody electric guitar. I have a hard time controlling a full hollow body electric guitar (those boogers are not only tone monsters they are very sensitive, at least I think so).

My vote also goes to Alex Lifeson. He definitely influenced my playing more than any other person, plus he's in Rush which is one of my absolute favorite bands.
As for guitars, it's no secret that I favor Les Pauls, so I'll go for Alex playing one...

Do you have any Lesters with Trems like Alex does? Gball

Nah, I'm really not a fan of trems. I have PTSD from the '80's and can't stand them anymore.

I would like a LP with that Axcess heel though. Those are slick.

And perhaps ironically, although when I play it's Alex Lifeson that I think I'm ripping off, the guys I play with all think it's Michael Schenker that I'm ripping off. Go figure.

I’d LOVE to have one of those.

A Lester with a Floyd.

Smitty, my blind friend had me take him to a Rush concert for the Snakes and Arrows tour. He'd ask me what guitars Alex was playing. I'd say LP's with Floyds.
He would reply, he couldn't believe he would ruin a LP with a Floyd.

I'm not the biggest Rush fan in the world, not that I dislike them either, but I think Alex Lifeson is a great guitar player that never really got the attention he should have. Geddy and Neil got loads of attention, understandably so, but Alex imho deserved more attention as a guitarest than he got/gets - if that makes sense. I was in a band with a drummer that was a Rush head big into Neil's drumming - he seemed to get what I meant.

Btw. I really hate using my smartphone to try posting images or clips off the internet. I flat out suck at making the phone do what I can easily do on my laptop.

You need to upgrade me little BIG buddy.

My #1 guitar for years was my only guitar for years. Ovation acoustic. Bought that one in 1974 largely because Glen Campbell played one and I thought guitar was the coolest ever.

First electric was 2009. G400. Guess I can blame players like Tony, Angus and a guy named Frank.

My number one guitars are Gibson SGs and Les Pauls. The reasons are many, but I guess the most important ones can be found in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. The trio of Eric Clapton (Les Paul), Peter Green (Les Paul) and Mick Taylor (SG), on the "Beano", "Hard Road" and " Crusade" records respectively, probably did more for my interest in tone than any other players.

I've had a cell phone before, but it usually sat turned off. About the only time I like one is if I'm traveling or out bike riding. I can turn them on and make a call, and I can take pictures and transfer them to a computer, the only other real use I have for one is skeet shooting...

I have a friend who owns an Applause acoustic guitar under the Ovation name. I tried it a few times and it's a solid player for sure...great guitars and unique.
